SCHEDULED PROGRAM OF THE PILGRIMAGE

 

DAY 1, 23.07.2016 (Saturday)

Arrival in Cracow, transfer by bus and checking into a hotel.
15:00-19:00 city sightseeing with a guide (Cracow Old Town; The Cloth Hall, Adam Mickiewicz monument, St. Mary’s Basilica and Florianska Street).
19:00-20:30 dinner at the local restaurant Gościniec Floriański*.
Overnight in the hotel.

DAY 2, 24.07.2016 (Sunday)

09:00-10:00 breakfast in the hotel.
10:30-11:30 Holy Mass celebrated in English, in Saint Idzi Church.
12:00-14:30 visiting the Wawel Royal Castle. Entrance to Private Royal Apartments with the guide.
14:30-17:00 back to the Main Market Square- leisure (for a meal, self sightseeing).
17:00-19:00 sightseeing Kazimierz with guide: Old Town, The Old Synagogue, Cathedral, Corpus Christi Church, Jewish Ghetto and more. Kazimierz is a special place shaped by long-lasting Christian-Jewish coexistence.
19:00-20:30 dinner in one of the local restaurants in Kazimierz (Ziemiańska*).
Overnight in the hotel.

DAY 3, 25.07.2016 (Monday)

08:00-09:00  breakfast in the hotel.
09:00-13:00  visit to Wieliczka salt mine followed by dinner at the restaurant
Wieliczka, a fne example of medieval engineering is a world class monument, featured among twelve objects on the UNESCO’s World Cultural and Natural Heritage List.
13:00-00:00 transfer to Czestochowa.
Visit to Jasna Gora Monastery and Poland’s main pilgrimage shrine of Lady of Czestochowa, also known as the Black Madonna Shrine. Pope John has frequently visited this shrine.
Overnight in the hotel in Cracow.

DAY 4, 26.07.2016 (Tuesday)

09:00-10:00 breakfast in the hotel
10:00-13:00  visit to St. Mary Basilica followed by visiting St.Francis of Assisi Church, a place where Cardinal Karol Wojtyła, the future Pope prayed very often
St. Mary Basilica is one of the most well-known historic building in Krakow and in Poland. It is located in the Cracow Main Market Square. This gothic church with two towers is a masterpiece of medieval archictecture. Every hour a signal called hejnal is played from the window of the taller tower.
13:00-14:30 dinner at the local restaurant and leisure time.
17:00-21:00 Opening Mass of XXIX World Youth Day.
Overnight in the hotel.

 

 

DAY 5, 27.07.2016 (Wednesday)

08:00-09:00 breakfast in the hotel.
09:00-13:00 catechesis of the bishops, catechesis on the way.
13:00-17:00 visit in the Vocations Center, Youth Festival.
17:00-20:00 Youth Festival.
21:00-23:00 leisure time in the city.

DAY 6, 28.07.2016 (Thursday)

08:00-09:00 breakfast in the hotel.
09:00-13:00 catechesis of the bishops, catechesis on the way.
13:00-17:00 visit in the Vocations Center, Youth Festival.
17:00-21:00 PAPAL WELCOME.
21:00-23:00 leisure time in the city.

DAY 7, 29.07.2016 (Friday)

08:00-09:00 breakfast in the hotel.
09:00-13:00 catechesis of the bishops, catechesis on the way.
13:00-17:00 visit in the Vocations Center, Youth Festival.
17:00-21:00 Way of the Cross.
21:00-23:00 leisure time in the city.

DAY 8, 30.07.2016 (Saturday)

08:00-09:00 breakfast in the hotel.
09:00-17:00 Peregrination to the Vigil site – Brzegi Village.
17:00-21:00 Vigil with The Holy Father.
21:00 overnight in Brzegi Village in the tent field.

 

 

DAY 9, 31.07.2016 (Sunday)

09:00-14:00 FINAL MASS.
14:00-19:00 Volunteers meeting with the Holy Father.
19:00-22:00 after The World Youth Day – leisure in thr city.
Overnight in the hotel.

 

 

DAY 10, 01.08.2016 (Monday)

09:00-10:00 breakfast in the hotel.
10:00-11:00 check-out and transfer to the airport for departure.

Terms of payment:
The participant is obliged to transfer at least 49% of payment within five days after having received/sending written confirmation of booking. Whole payment should be transferred 30 days before arrival date.
